I still don't have internet where I live, but I have a notebook now and know how to get my photos off my camera.... So that means soon, there will be photos of knitting again. I haven't forgotten this blog and I hope to get back to using it again.

Divorce is in process and school is down to less than a full year. WOOT I can't wait. Hope all is well with my knitting buddies.

I know I've not really done much for this project, I'm such a slacker sometimes but I realized I have a few things in the last couple of posts that might just count towards the air segment of this. The moth of course is an air creature and the booty bag I knit for a gift? I took the photo of it in the air drying! So there ya go. LOL I was wondering what I would do for AIR: Gray, White, Yellow.

Lame ass post, sorry, just so focused on getting through life right now. Not that I'm busy, but there are other things going on that just eat up time. Anyway, hope you all are having one fine summer time! Peace.

I had to share this moth photo. It was one HUGE moth that got into the house and this is it being freed outside. It was, I kid you not, about 3" long with a wingspan to match! It was freaky.

This is me, I colored my hair with straight purple but it doesn't show once again. Bummer.
And per Meg's request, I give you progress on the Basalt Tank. Working on the third hexagon and one more full one to do, then it's 5/6 and half hexagons to do. I doubt I will get it done this summer but it would look good over a tight long sleeve tee so I'll still wear it! :)
So, please pick yourself up off the floor and hopefully life won't get to fricken crazy that I won't go so long again without a post. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer, despite all the storms we keep getting. Peace!

her total stupidity. Remember a post or two ago when I said I couldn't find the stitch markers that Meg made for me and I said they're around somewhere? Well, they were around somewhere... they are IN a WIP!!!! Hello? Knitter! Where did I think they were going to be? ROFL even though I felt as dumb as the rocks I collect I was very happy to "find" them again.

*gasp* Does that mean I'm knitting? Why yes it does! And on a WIP that's been going on for a few months as well! I'm trying to knock off some of my WIPs before the summer semester starts. See, I only have one class this spring and it's a math class so once the homework is done, it's done and there are no lurking reports to do, no presentations hanging over my head, and that my fine woolly friends means there will be knitting time for me this spring! WooT WooT

I'd love to show you the WIP with the markers but it's a birthday gift for my friend Jess who's birthday is in June. I will post a photo later though. Promise. So for now, I'm off to keep my coffee buzz and KNIT. Yes, I still can't believe it, KNIT, I am KNITTING and I am getting things finished and in between spaces in my house are getting cleaned. It's two posts and both have knitting in them! I just finished what I dubbed the Grape Vine Poncho. My own design (don't ask, I B.S.'d my way through it) and it's with that Catherine the Great colorway yarn that I can't remember anything else about. I can't believe I'm modeling with no make up on either LOL, but tough! :P

And this is the first hexagon for the Basalt Tank from Knitting Nature. King Tut yarn. I have to make three more and a few half hex's. I would like to wear this tank to school this summer to show off the tattoos ya know? :)

I'm pretty happy with the first one but I seriously need to find more comfy stitch markers. I'm ashamed to say that I've missed placed the ones Meg made me using beads her bro. made. I'm such an ass. I'm sure they're around somewhere, it's just locating them in this sty.

Anyway, enjoy the duel post with knitting content. Who knows how long it will be before it happens again. :)

I went get my new tattoo and took this to Mr. Ed. I was excited to give it to him and wish I could have sooner so he could actually wear it but hey, it's Michigan and the day will come again that requires wool on the head.

And for his lovely wife I made the shrunken head. I love it and they're fun to accessorize.
And this is my newest tattoo... flash on, flash off LOL. I love it. I love it so much it almost brings tears to my eyes. Mr. Ed is just amazing. Just amazing.
The red tailed hawk is my spirit animal, totem animal, something I always need to be aware of in my life - clear sight. Anyway, I'm in love with the hawk and Mr. Ed is my hero.

This is the photo The Yarn Harlot took of my tattoo.... (See that red mark on my neck? That's what happens when essential oils get directly on your skin... but the massage was worth it anyway!) So despite the goofiest damn look on my face this is how the tattoo looks now (and I drew the original myself *squeal*.)

Is it my imagination or do my boobs look extra big now that I've lost that 45 pounds? Just wondering LOL. Peace.

The Yarn Harlot! She was beautiful, clever, and hilarious as always. Always a delight to get a chance to see and if you weren't there then, well, you seriously missed out! This is a terrible photo (Stephanie doesn't look horrible, my photo was) but you'll have to take into consideration that I was at the very back of the room and flashes only go so far.

But, this is a better one! Meg (Blogless No More), Stephanie, and I with my knitting tattoo! Maybe one of these years I can actually stand next to Stephanie in a photo lol.
I made some mad progress on my "school sock". Count down 4 red sections and that's what I got done while waiting. My nail polish matched too, pretty groovy eh? I call this my school sock because usually I only knit on it between classes.
I decided instead of doing regular ribbing I'd do a basket weave look and it's turning out pretty good. I wonder if it'll take me another two semesters to get the second one done. Lets hope not! I have at least 8 or 9 Socks that Rock kits to do an another one coming in a month or so. Stash! Gotta love it.
I do want to apologize for the lack of posting these last few months. School is kicking my hiney and my kids seem to decide that instead of all four of them getting sick at once they'd play tag. I've had one sick for one week for the last four weeks. Now, on top of all that I have a HUGE paper in my ecology class due Tuesday, a presentation for Monday in Glacial Geology, and a HUGE paper due in my social foundations class by the 22nd. Plus take home questions for my last test in ecology Thursday, four field trip write ups for geology, a poster presentation in biogeography, and two finals. Hello? Can someone shot me now? Holy sheep sh*t I'm feeling a bit crazy, overwhelmed, and panicky. Thankfully there's knitting to relax me (procrastinate with). Have a great weekend and if I don't emerge in 10 days come peel my face out of my text book K? :)

A new friend of mine said that there are cable patterns or knitting patterns depending on what your last name is if you are Irish. My question is, if this is true, then how in the hell do you find them? I'm not all that good at doing searches on Google and I've totally run out of keywords.

Does anyone know about this? Can anyone find it? And if so, Telford is the name I'm lookin' for. And, lol, it's not for knitting, it's for a tattoo.... if it's attractive enough LOL.

Anyway, all you search geniuses, can you help me or tell me he's got it wrong. :)

and an "After" photo taken today: Holy sheep sh*t, that's only 45 pounds... well, not that it's ONLY 45, because that really is a lot of weight, but I still have about 50 pounds to go... what in the world will I look like then??? Hopefully not much more will come off my face. So anyway, just wanted to share the new hair with you and the new...

...nails. Gel. Fake. Too square. Financial commitment. But ones that will resist breaking and peeling unlike my own pathetic gifts from nature. Anyway, I needed some serious pampering today and so the nails and the hair are what I did for myself. I also went to Old Navy and bought a pair of clearance pants in a size SIXTEEN! I haven't worn a pair of 16 since high school. Boo YEAH baby! I like Old Navy, I think I will shop there more.

I do have some knitting to show you but since they are gifts I have to wait until I can get them to the recipients. Once I do I will post the photos! Ok, the next 6 weeks are going to be rough as a cats tongue so you won't see much of me or much in the way of knitting. I have four BIG reports to do and a poster presentation on top of opinion papers and 6 more tests. Wish me luck! lol Peace

FEBRUARY / MARCH - FIRE- orange, red, pink

Don't fall off your rockers!

First we'll start with the Viking's hat. I got the jaw done on the third row of skulls and Mr. Ed, the master of the ink gun expressed interest in one himself. Well, seeing as how this is one of the EASIEST charts to follow, and I'm totally loving it's rhythm, and Mr. Ed is a rockin' cool dude, I think he may just end up with one... but in ORANGE which is his favorite color. We'll see, we'll see. I don't have a photo of the tattoo he did on the Viking but I have to say, it was totally evil, and so detailed and, well, it was truly one of the greatest tattoos I've ever seen. *sigh* I wish I could share it with you all. Anyway, this is the We Call Them Pirates hat in the Viking's favorite color and it's a wonderful knit. Now on tooooooo my newest tattoo!
On my right shoulder I now have a little buddy to remind to keep my knitting rocking and hard core. I think it needs something added around it but I'm not sure what just yet. But I love it and it looks rather tough when I'm wearing a wife beater tank. Yep, Mr. Ed did a wonderful job of making my little drawing work. I'm so happy with it. I've already got the next tattoo figured out and the next one after that and another one after that too! My back is going to be full LOL. Well, enjoy the photos, it maybe awhile before you see anymore unfortch.

I have nine weeks left of classes and I'm taking the spring semester off to get the yard ready for summer and to give myself some time. I've been going for almost 2 years straight and need a break. By taking the spring semester off the kids will still be in school the majority of it. Then I plan on taking two classes in the summer. Of course that time will also be spent knitting my little fingers sore! Oh, and if you're wondering since you can't tell in the photo, the ball of yarn is about the size of the diameter of a pop can. Ok, I'm off to do stuff now! Peace Peeps!

Today is my new tattoo at 4:30, the one I'm keeping secret until it's done. I'm staying in a hotel tonight *wink wink* and am really looking forward to it. The person I'm staying with at the hotel is getting a We Call Them Pirates hat. I started it Wednesday night and I'm already half way done with it. I'll definitely get a photo of it before he takes off with it LOL. Well, it's not like I won't see it again :)

So tomorrow I'll post some photos and share my own designed tattoo surprise and whatever progress I make on the hat. It's a really easy knit and I think I'm going to make another one or two or three....

The saga of my life continues.......

and boy have the last few weeks been rough. I know that life goes in cycles but the down swing of that wheel can be rough and feel like it's dragging you through water trying to drown you. Anyway, as you can see by the photos I finished my newest tattoo and added on to it a bit. Mr. Ed once again proved he's the master! On top of that I'm going back on the 16th to have another one put on my deltoid of my left arm, one that I designed myself and Mr. Ed is going to rework so it will, well, work LOL. I'm keeping that one a secret for now.
On the front I had Mr. Ed add one more curl. It just didn't seem to come down far enough before and now I'm happy. Not that I wasn't before LOL, but I'm even more so now. This time it feels like it's healing much better too. I can't wait to see how the colors develop after it's done peeling and softens up a bit.
I love walking around school with it peeping out of my neckline and watching peoples reactions to it when they walk by. I'm like yep, I am cooler than you! Speaking of school. God damn. I have three 300 level classes and one 400 level class and it's rough. The reading alone is enough to take up every waking moment of my day.

And then, on top of the stress from school I got sick last week. My youngest boy came home Monday and promptly feel asleep with that rosey faced, glassy eyed, vacant stare that kids get when you know they're really sick. Next day the doc tested him and he had the influenza. Well that same day, after my second class I was eating and I looked at my friend Adam and announced that I didn't feel well. One hour later I was high tailing it home (missed my third class) and woke up with a 103 temp. One that wasn't brought down by anything I took so I had the chills, runny nose and a terrible, terrible cough, which I still have.

I have slept in a chair for the last 6 nights, tonight I'm going to try and sleep in bed. I actually got some solid sleep last night and my body is crying out for more. So between school and illness I really haven't done any knitting other than the few rounds I reward myself with at school after studying on what I am calling the watermelon sock. It's knitpicks yarn and I'm just doing my own version of a short row toe up sock on US 1's. Isn't it sad that I can't even get one sock done a semester?
I have made the decision that I'm going to take the spring semester off, while the kids are still in school, so that I can take a few weeks for just myself. In small chunks while the kids are at school of course LOL, but still, I've been going to school for two years straight now and I NEED some time for me. I'm planning on taking two classes during the summer term.

So that's what's been up around my world lately. Karl and I are getting along really well, the kids are doing great despite the occasional sickness, and I miss you all very much. (((hugs)))

Holy Sheep Sh*t

I got the book that The Anticraft put out and made something from it (menstrual cup cozy elongated for tampons) and gave it as a gift before I could get a photo! I ACTUALLY knit something and didn't get a frickin' photo for it!!! I know, SLACKER! I'm sorry. But I DO have photos of my newest tattoo. Mr. Ed (royal oak tattoo) you totally did it again man. The dude drew it all free hand. Duuuuuuuuude. If you ever want a tattoo, and I know marg will back me up on this one, you have to go check out Mr. Eds work.

I love the little smirking skull, it totally cracks me up. I go back on 2/2 to get the color work done and I may have him put something on my arm that day too. It's really black still because it's less than 48 hours old. We're also going to put some shading around the tarot card to make it pop out more.
The vine comes around my left shoulder down on to my chest but I almost think it needs one more curly vine and leaf but I have three weeks to think about it.

I still haven't taken photos of any knitting, but as you can see here, I did finally empty the memory on the camera so now I CAN take photos of the knitting. :)

I just had to add two of the snow photos, especially this one of Max trying so hard to use the snow blower. It was so funny to watch and he had a blast. The snow "ain't so pretty" now but it sure was that day.
And this is a photo of us with Shamus, my day old nephew. He is SOOOOO cute! It was great to hold a baby again... and the best part? Handing him BACK! lol Seriously though, he's awesome and I'm really looking forward to when he can sit up enough because I'd like to take all 8 kids to get a portrait together. It's almost freakish how much they all look like siblings instead of cousins.
So in between the snow, tests, and babies I did manage to get a tiny bit of knitting done. I have just cast on for the first sleeve of the baby sweater and have the back and both fronts done. My goal is to get it done shortly after Christmas so I can go visit the baby again and give my SIL the gift. It's hard to believe that my two youngest started out that size! Damn they grow so much it's freaking amazing! My two older ones were approximately a pound heavier so were a bit bigger.

Hopefully tomorrow I will get around to posting some actual knitting photos for a blog that is supposed to be for knitting! And I so miss the knitting. I'm fighting the urge to cast on something else too but the quantity of WIPS laying around is daunting so I resist. I'll tell you how well that goes for me later LOL. Peace Peeps! Love ya.

Just wanted to pop in and say I have one test tonight and one tomorrow morning so soon I'll be back to blowing up your inboxes with posts. I have managed to start a sock and got the back and left front done on the baby sweater. I'm about 4 inches into the other front. I'll post photos tomorrow if I can, if not then Wednesday. The baby is being delivered Wednesday so I doubt I will have it done by then but it won't be too long after he shows up that it will be.

Suz, I did get the yarn, thank you so much! Soon I will get some off to you. Marg, I'm going for teaching with a major in Earth Science and a minor in Biology. Meg, tomorrow is my last day of the semester and I'm going out with Louie, Nate and Nate's girlfriend to get trashed. We need to find a time to do that together... SOON. Hope you did well on your math exam.

I need to get a hold of Mr. Ed to talk about completing my tattoo on my shoulder soon. I'm still sick, but I'm pretty sure that it's my mono that has flared up and if I keep getting as much sleep as I have this weekend it'll go dormant again soon (I hope). Got all the holiday shopping done last night now I just need to get wrapping paper and wrap all the crap LOL. See ya soon! Peace!

Just wanted to share that I got the C I needed in chemistry so I passed, barely, but the college of education will be satisfied! I'll update as more grades come in! WOOT! No more chemistry for me! I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am about that! Well, I mean, I will teach some basic chemistry, but I don't have to take another class as far as I know! Me = GEEKED

Just wanted to give a heads up that I'm rolling in to finals. My first one is a week from Friday so I am going to let certain things slid, like cleaning the house and doing laundry... oh, and blogging LOL. After they're done you know you'll get 3-4 posts a day for a week, nothing like over kill to make up for it. Anyway, I'm about to enter loonyville and just wanted to let you all know. *grin*

I just wanted you all to know that I'm still around but there is a SERIOUS lack of knitting going on around here. Any time I have had that would be put into knitting has been eaten up by being sick. I just can't seem to get rid of whatever this is. First it started out as a sore throat, then went to my sinus', and now is in my chest and I've lost my voice. Sleeping has been so interrupted due to the coughing and that's making me so worn out. The last day of classes is the 19th so after that we'll have more regular blog posting and hopefully some knitting to boot!

I went to the doctors, have strep throat, have antibiotics now, and the last time I was there was March. Since then I have lost, get this,

TWENTY TWO pounds!

I knew I was losing weight, but damn! My scale sucks and I was just using it to show progress lol, but wow! I'm so happy with that. I'd like to do that amount again and I'd be pretty darn comfy. So I'm going to hole up in the house today and try to get some sleep. I feel so bad I even called into work which is a biggie for me. I've been there a little over two years and this is either the 2nd or 3rd time I've called in. Which isn't a good thing sometimes because I go to work while too sick. Not today though, not worth it. Noooo I get to go right into my usual strep throat. And yes, I'm going to whine about it because I. DON'T. FEEL. GOOD. LOL, a little drama to start my day off, sorry.

I'm missing school today to see if I can get into the doctor's and for some of you, that gives you an indication of how sick I am doesn't it? Especially since the two classes I'm going to miss are the ones I'm failing. :(

Just wanted to pop in and say that I've managed to not get much more done on the baby sweater for my brothers newest one and it's due in like two weeks. But school has got to come first right now and I have 5 days over Thanksgiving which would be just enough to get that tiny thing done.

My most wonderful birthday boy (10 today) did it again, he got a good photo of me with my new haircut. I look a little pale but hey, s'all right with me LOL. Birthday has gone pretty well, sitting here with my ice cream and cake (ick at this point) and trying to do homework/reports with everyone here and Transformers on the TV. Grrrr, not productive. I need to go lock myself in my bedroom maybe. My school work is keeping me UBER busy and my mom's health is not doing well, but don't ask yet, we're not totally sure what's going on other than she has common immunodeficiency disorder or some such thing and there is a possible link to cancer. She's going to about 4 doctor appointments this next week and having lots of tests set up and once they come back and we listen to all the results I'll share. I'm alive and just so overwhelmed with everything that is going on at school and my personal life that I have a hard time just getting stuff done. Student teaching so far is going ok, I really like the teacher I'm working with and it's an 8th grade class first then a 7th grade class that I work with on Mondays and Wednesdays. Wild age group and so much fun to watch and talk to. The things that run through those minds never cease to amaze me.

I have hardly touched any knitting so really can't say much. The penis sock isn't very excited about what's going on so it's done very little growing. I'm going to get that damn sock done before the next sock kit comes though! I also have to get a baby sweater and hat done before the end of November. I know you all are like, you can do THAT, geesh. But the truth is? I really do not have time and the further in to the semester I get the heavier the work load will be. Oh holy sheep shit, there's also the holidays coming up too! WTF am I going to do? I know, schedule! yep, it's going to have to come down to pulling up good ole Exell and making a schedule. I hate that, except then I can schedule in some knitting time right? Yeppers LOL.

I finally heard back from the school I'm supposed to do my pre-student teaching at so I'm going in there Friday morning to meet the teachers who said they'd work with me. I've done NO knitting and I'm just basically staying awake with coffee at this point. This one shows the pooling/swirling of the colors better. I love this colorway and next year you can purchase it from Blue Moon Fiber Arts too, it's called Monsoon.

I showed off my tattoo to more people today, even ones I was a little leery of showing because they're not tattoo kind of peeps, and you know what? They surprised me! I had to go check my chin to make sure it didn't get bruised from hitting the floor! First, the tattoo itself, then the subject of the tattoo, then how big it is, nothing I though would be an issue was. One lady I work with is rather religious and she really liked it and absolutely loved the colors of it. She then proceeded to tell me how she likes the colored ones much better than the black/white ones. I had another lady who is a great grandmother twice tell me about one she wants LOL.

I've told them all about the vine around my left shoulder and onto my chest that I want and they all like the idea too. I swear sometimes I just love the human race, or at least those that are within my little box of a world. I have decided it will be a vine and I have goals/intentions I have set for myself and each time I reach one of the goals or one of the intentions come to fruit I'm going to add to the vine. Most will be rose buds but one will be a butterfly. It would be great to have it soft and feminine, much like a watercolor picture if possible. Maybe not, we'll see since it's a ways off anyway.

Ok, since this really is supposed to be a knitting blog I'll say something about knitting. I ain't done any LOL. I worked 8 hours yesterday and 8 hours today and I'm am tired. Kids start school tomorrow and I have to work from 6-11 and then my classes start on Wednesday so I'm not sure if I will get any knitting done for the next two days at least.... hee hee but my priorities are a little out of whack and we know I will just because I said I wouldn't.

Mr. Ed? If you read this post too, you're still getting a tip because you totally deserve it, don't even waste your energy typing back a response to that, even if you do like my smile, and I AM still smiling. What do you think about the vine idea? Can it be done in a style that suggests an ink and watercolor painting? And will a Saturday for the checkup be ok? I can use it as an excuse to take the kids to the zoo again LOL.

Enough babbling for tonight. Need to finish my beer and head to bed. Not sure that's a great idea, I'm PMSing and I totally just ate some fried kielbasa along with the beer. I may have to crash in the chair for a few hours. Ahhh why did I just share that with you all? It's so pathetic... and what's even more pathetic? OMG I'm such an ass. I got to work today and went to pull out some change for a crap snack in the vending machine and realized I had forgotten to tip Mr. Ed! I guess I was so relieved that the pain had stopped and wanted to get the hell out of there so there wouldn't be a possibility of more pain happening that it totally slipped my mind. I'll just have to make sure I give it to him in a couple of weeks when I go in for my "check up". I can not tell you what a flippin heel I feel like. Hours of work and concentration and I can't even remember to tip him. Can you tell I feel guilty? Yes I do. Sometimes I'm such a flake. This was seriously the most excruciating thing I've ever experienced. It took Mr. Ed three hours to do and about 2 hrs and 40 mins into it I had hit my wall. Those last 20 minutes just lasted forever I swear. But since it was so damn close to being done I forced myself through it. Boy, am I happy! It turned out so beautifully and I totally chose the right man for the job.

It's not really sore today either! My ankle hurt way more afterwards than this one does and this one was much more aggressive. The red has even faded enough to see the yellow butterfly (one of the most important symbols in the picture) a lot more.
Eventually, when I forget the pain of this, I'll go see Mr. Ed again and have him do some kind of rose vine around my left shoulder, maybe with a butterfly... What'cha think Ed? It won't be for awhile though, the slack I'm getting at home here needs to settle a bit. Anyway I totally love it, it's even better than I thought it would be and dude, you are amazing! Thank you.

The Zoo

It was a gorgeous day to go to the zoo, I'm so glad we went. We renewed our membership, spent WAY too much on food, and took lots of photos, a select few for you to view here. We walked from front to back and then rode the train up. After we drove to Royal Oak Tattoo and put a deposit down on my next one and made the appointment for Sat. the 8th. Too bad Mr. Ed wasn't there for me to meet since he's the one who's going to stick me with a needle a bazillion times LOL.
So this is me and Garrett just after seeing the Polar Bears.
The chicklets at the same time, Grant, Miranda, Garrett and Max.
This was hilarious! These birds were getting a bath and fluffed their feathers up so the water would reach their skin. From the noise and the preening they were doing I think this was probably as good as sex for them.
This bird almost glowed! It was brilliant and beautiful.
This Polar Bear had the right idea for beating the heat though! He was just swimming circles diving underwater periodically. It was cute.

Mr. Grizzly was awake too, kind of surprising to me because I figured he'd be sleeping like a lot of the other animals (lazy lions).

And we'll leave you with Pumba a his friend. The warthogs were running around like something bit them in the ass. What funny creatures these are.
So that's the zoo tattoo trip. Came home and I've been uploading photos for over two hours now and I made a sock toe on the very first Socks that Rock kit second sock. Remember the sock that looked like a willy warmer? I'm about at that point where it starts to take on the penis shape LOL. It's such a hoot to knit this in public. Peace!

So if you don't want to ruin your surprise, go somewhere else right this very instant because I'm going to ruin it for all it's worth! This colorway name and pattern are by far my most favorite, even if the colors (at the moment) don't totally thrill me. FLOWER POWER!!! Yes, the young hippie in me just LOVES that name and the whole idea behind it.

I'm so far behind on the whole sock club thing. I haven't even finished the first pair and now I have three more that are sitting around waiting for me to get to them. Ahh the damn list of knitting projects forever increases at a rate much faster than they are completed and I'd really like to join this again next year because it's so nice to get something happy in the mail once in awhile! And on top of school? School that I so seriously need to focus on so I can get done as soon as possible? Yeah, knitting isn't happening much the next couple of year unfortch. I'm making good progress on my poncho and I bought some new felting wool from Patons and I'm going to make another skull and cross bones purse! YES I AM! This time it's going to be pale pink with a black skull! Oh I am SOOO geeked!

And I think I did well on my test today! I did not ace it but I'm pretty sure I will maintain my C or C+! I can't wait until later this week when it should be posted. Of course I'd LOVE to get a B- but i think that's a pipe dream. A C+ next to my A would be satisfactory enough.

Even though I have two weeks off I have a lot to do to get all of us ready for school. Karl has three classes, I have 16 credits (6 classes), and the kids once again are in three different schools. I'm taking my happy kat pills again just FYI. Hopefully I will have some knitting photos to share soon! Peace knitsters!

through some older photos and condensing my Kodak files and came across this photo. The last one taken before I donated my hair. I was so sick at the time and looked so rough, but since it shows my hair at it's longest it's worth showing. Boy oh boy, no wonder I couldn't stand to have it long anymore!

And this? This photo cracks me up because I've got these teeny tiny little pigtails in the back and I feel silly and cute all at the same time. Not sure why I want to share this with you except I've been debating about growing my hair out a bit for winter. I'm thinking not now.

Ok a bit lame but I tried, give me kudos for that at least. Barnes and Nobel never even called or sent an email saying they were in, I went up there (stalkers-r-us) and there they were. So anyway, I have a new set of cards to play with. I need to find some time to shuffle them so that they start to feel like mine because they don't now. My old deck is "mine" ya know? The new deck is a bit cheerier than my first one so it should have it's moments of use. Anyway, I have my Death card to take to the tattoo place for my next tattoo when I find the money. Can we say loan disbursement eh? So, I just wanted to tell you all I got them and that I got a couple more inches done on the poncho. Cool beans! Test isn't until MONDAY!!! I all of a sudden got 4 more days to study! How very awesome is that? Yes indeedy.

AND right this minute Karl took the kids to the beach then he's bringing them back and going to a ghost hunter group thing. YEAH! More time.... well kind of, the kids will be here, but I kind of miss them so it's all good.

I got my flash cards written up and now I have definitions to look up, write, then type (doing it twice like that cements them better in the brain) and then it's down to USING them. Which I will because I found out today I've got a C+ and to maintain that C+ I have to get an 81 on this test and if I really apply myself and get a 91 or higher I could actually get a B-. WooT!

Honestly, if I don't have to retake this class I'll be happy. My tarot cards aren't in still :-(. LOL Maybe tomorrow eh? I also got a book on palm reading which is turning out to be rather interesting! Ok, off to do something else like ummm, definitions. Yeah.

The Bliss Massage Oil makes me want to lick my hand where I rubbed it on. They use only organic ingredients and this Bliss has many yummy things in it. Pure essential oils of Bergamot, sweet orange, frankincense, coriander, tagette, cardamom, tangerine, allspice, myrrh, clove and rosemary. It reminds me of Constant Comment Tea by Bigelow. It's a serious scent treat!

Arrrr it's a muffin pan booty! I LOVE how this turned out, it's just the right size for a purse. I love it and I love that all I had to buy was the black wool, the colored was from my STASH!
I'm going to start trying to whip out more of my poncho now. OH and guess what? Uh huh, you're going to have to wait until later when I can get some more photos uploaded.... I got my SOCKAPALOOZA SOCKS!!!!! YES I DID! They fit, they're soft, they're snuggly, they're bright and cheerful, and oh I'm so in love with them! I have to sneak over with my tail between my legs and tell my pal that I can't get hers in the mail until Wednesday. Though of course they have been done, but I had to wait for a check to clear to have the moola and now I need to get the time.

Anyway, Nova, they're totally freakin' awesome loveliness! I got homemade Fancy Feet sock blockers to go with them AND two bags of Wasabi Macadamia Nuts... boy you know one of those bags are gone right? Yep. LOVE THEM! I'm sorry, I had to try them on. Her feet are a tad bit smaller than mine so if they fit me snug they'll probably fit her ok. God I hope so!

Here they are and I'm in love with them! I have to locate the yarn band now. When I do I'll let you know what it is. It's 100% merino and I did them toe up pretty much doing a generic pattern, then did 6 rows of 1x1 ribbing then a 4/6 picot bind off. Sassy!
Then I just had to be narcissistic person and share a photo my middle boy took of me. Other than usually being blurry he takes the best photos of me. Gotta love that, especially when you're not photogenic at all. Ok, sockapalooza 4 socks done, felted bag next! Peace knitstas!

I have like 4 hours left on the last sockapalooza sock and I've managed to knit most of a bag that I will felt when done. It's awesome and has a skull and crossbones on it. I really wanted to get it done before school tomorrow but LOL it's no where near. Have about four inches left to do of the sides and the bottom plus four feet of 8 stitch I-cord. You all know how much I'm looking forward to THAT right? Not! I had to buy one ball of black wool to do this but otherwise it's been a knit from my stash project. I've done really well with the knit from your stash thing, I've only bought three balls of yarn. Ok, maybe more, but I'm a bit foggy right now.

Suz, I'm glad you are back online, I've missed you and I wish it would have worked out to come and visit you but it just didn't on my end either. So knit on my fine duckies! (((hugs)))

I finished Harry Potter yesterday and I'm on the last leg of the sockapalooza socks.... yes, that was a terrible attempt at a pun. I've decided that after the socks are done I'm going make a felted bag then put some effort into finishing my Katherine the Great poncho that reminds me of grapes. I want to wear it this fall. So soon my little pretties I will post a photo of some socks!

Cider and Happiness

Damn, I like cider Especially the hard kind. Usually it's Woodchuck, but I had something at O'Callahans (or whatever that new place is there over at the mall with the three damn turn arounds) that was just tastey. It was like Woodchuck and beer mixed together. Jess and I had a good time. She ate, I had soup (I guess that counts as eating too) and we both had cider.

One thing I really like about Jess is how much she will laugh at my totally ditzy moments and sayings. I had so much fun with her getting the Harry Potter book Friday and now tonight, it almost makes the disappointment of the last few days seem dim because they're sandwiched between these two great nights.

Hell, between Meg, Diana, Holly and Jess I'm well covered in the friendship area. I have been so truly blessed and each one are so unique in their own right that I get a well rounded view of what life is like for others. Diversity. I really like that word, meaning, and concept.

My SIL may have once told me to not be so open minded that my brain falls out but you know what? I like being so opened minded because it lets the light in. I'm having a hippy moment. Love. Peace. Knit. LOL Seriously, it all boils down to love, in it's very many levels and shades. Love first and peace follows. (In my world, knit and find it faster!) Now I'm not so sure I want to post this but I'm going to step out of my box and do so. Take a moment and look at the moon. Peace.

Sushi and Sadness

Well, I have to say that Sushi isn't quite as bad as I thought it would be but not something I think I want all that often. I'm kind of disappointed in the evening though, as a whole. I like the people I was out with but I thought they'd be more fun than they were. Oh well, I guess we can't win them all.

Now I'm feeling extra lonely because I'm home alone and I really really miss my kids. Sometimes hanging out with those who are younger than me can really make me feel excellent about where I am in my life in some regards. My kids are the shit. I may not have a marriage left but at least I have four wonderful kids that have come from it. I don't want to be young like that anymore, always looking for something to do, never really having that much fun. I do remember that from when I was actually that age.

Anyway, I'm glad I tried the sushi, it was definitely a neat experience. We also went to see Transformers which I have to say was a really good movie. I loved it, very action packed, a bit cheesy, and funny. The theater was so cold I could hardly stand myself, I hate being cold as much as I hate being too hot.

Last night at Diana's... now that's the kind of night I enjoy much more. We got yummy veggie sandwiches and sat on her porch and drank wine and talked and talked and talked. So I think I'm going to go get ready for bed, cry for awhile to cleanse my soul, and then read some Harry Potter.

Time Flies

We had some grand storms go through here on Thursday and knocked over 3 big pine trees in our neighborhood. We were without power for 2 days. When you have a well that means you don't have water and you can't cook anything because the stove is electric and you don't want to open the fridge... Anyway, it also makes it hard to do online homework also.

Now I'm kind of overwhelmed about what I have to do since I have to work all weekend AND I have plans for an actual social life! I'm still in disbelief myself! I have actual social commitments this week! ME! I wonder, does this mean I might actually HAVE a life? I'll fill you in on it as it occurs. I need to buckle down and get my sockapalooza socks done too. And speaking of sockapalooza, my sock pal sent me another postcard from Oregon! I just think that's the neatest thing! My poor sock pal receiver hasn't gotten more than a two comments from me. Maybe I had better take a clue from mine and at least post another one.

Well, I'm off to bed now, work was rough tonight and I want to read some more Harry Potter. See you soon baboons!

Why did it take me over two years to get post 500??? Everyone knows how much I like to talk, geesh! It's been an interesting day. I had counseling this morning, went to lunch at the playscape with Jess, started crying for no reason, it lasted 2 minutes, stopped, spent the next hour laughing, and now I sit here trying to keep from going pee because I have to go for a pelvic ultrasound at 3:30.

My maternal grandmother died of ovarian cancer so we check mine every couple of years and I also am getting checked for fibroids also because, well, I'm just at that age LOL. So, here I am 1 hours and 45 minutes before my appointment and I seriously am feeling the urge to pee. *sigh* It's going to make for a long afternoon isn't it?

And to top off the whole day? I have to work tonight. And I don't know with WHOM I'm working either. That's probably the worst part because I can't gear myself up it. First biology test on Monday and I haven't had a chance to study yet.

The dissection of the rat was sooooo way cool! I totally, totally loved poking around inside the poor creature once it was open. I could NOT do the opening though, that once again fell to Joe. He seemed to have a few moments where it wasn't really settling well with him either but he, ummm, snipped through it. ROFLMAO. Oh I crack my self up. I almost wish I had photos.

I did a little crochet today on the second slit throat choker. When I get that one done I'll post a photo. I'm just not into finishing that last sock right now and what I really want to do is work on a sweater for me. *sigh* Sock first. Peace.

OK, ultrasound update: No fibroids and she said to not expect anything serious in the report. The radiologist has to make a report of course but the technician said there was nothing surprising so I should relax. Yeah! Another couple of years before my next one unless something bothers me ya know? Just thought I'd update you so no one worries. Love ya!

And new toes. It hurt to take off my skull and cross bones but I did it.
They don't always match so well.
But the right food turned out the best and if I don't show them together then who will notice? LOL Only me.
I'm running out of ideas so who knows what will be next. Maybe the skull and xbones again. Maybe I will get some acrylic paints and get more involved with the designs... No knitting done still, hopefully soon. At least I'm still being creative. I'll let you know how the disection goes tomorrow.

No really, go ahead! No? No clue? Ok, fine, I guess you'd never come up with the correct answer unless you visit my myspace place. We disected an earthworm and a grasshopper today in bio lab. I took the grasshopper and snipped off the legs and the wings and then as I held the newly dismembered insect carcass in my hand I realized I could go no farther so I handed it to Joe. He had no problem with it so I cut into the earthworm which didn't bother me one bit. I did cut through on organ inside and it was the seminal ventricle or something... basically I gave a dead earthworm a vasectomy. Oh yes I did! ROFL it just tickles me for some reason. I keep saying it outloud too... I gave a dead earthworm a vasectomy today. *snort* Grossed out are you? Sorry. It's so funny to me though.

Thursday we're cutting up a perch and a rat. I don't think I'll have an issue with the fish but the rat? I equate them to pets so the task may fall to Joe again. Oh and they don't use formeldehyde anymore because it's a carcinogen.... they use Formalin and it made the specimens smell a lot like pickels! Which I also found kind of ammusing too.

I guess I'm a bit strange at times because no else thought they smelled like pickles. Not that I'd eat one, gross (!), but it helped me keep from getting sick to my stomach.

I've not been in the mood to knit the last couple of days, which is kind of strange, but it's probably the heat. Actually I've not been in the mood to do much of anything lately, I kind of feel like I've hit a point where I just want to give up on everything but school and my kids. I'm really looking forward to graduating and recreating my whole life the way I want it to be, or at least start taking steps towards that goal. And on the other hand it terrifies me at the same time. But doesn't excitement sometimes immitate terror? For me it does so I'm probably just a bit of both. Well, anyway, I'm off to do something, maybe just going to bed. I am kind of tired. Peace!

The Slit Throat Choker. It made for a really quick crochet. This one is 16 inches long using Lion Brand Microfiber stuff and five glass beads to set off the longest front drops.

Well, it's amazing to me how my moods ride a rollercoaster. Today I've been in such a decent mood and sometimes almost manic. I've not done any knitting that's worthy of posting about but Suz did send me a link to this and I'm probably going to make it tonight. Well, maybe not, me and my wine are getting along just fine right now. But then, it might be kind of fun to see how it turns out.

So anyway, I appreciate the support I always get from you all. It means more to me than you will ever know, seriously. We all need support don't we? And it's so hard to ask for but I'm glad when I do it's offered. Thank you.

I've started the instep of my toe up second sock for sockapalooza 4 and I don't think it will be too long before it's done. Then I have numerous other projects that need some attention, like Jessica's TSP gift that should have been done in June and probably will become a holiday gift. Better late than never I think. Tonight was sooooo much better than the night before! I got to work with Linda, my most favoritest and the one I worked with last night which is my least. Linda and I spent two hour arranging and organizing the womens bathing suits. Holy sheep shit was that an ordeal but they look excellent now. It will probably be the last time they get done seeing as how it's time for the fall stuff to start trickling in. How do I feel about THAT? *shiver* It's way too soon.

Nate was back at work, he's my bud, and I missed him. He's got a sense of humor that totally mirrors mine and I find myself wishing he was my brother but then, he'd not be as much fun to talk to would he? I got out of work 50 minutes early as compared to last nights 20 minutes late and headed home. I'm listening to fireworks going off and I'm content. I work 1-6 tomorrow so no closing choas for me and then my new set of classes start Monday. THANK GOD. I really enjoy the routine of them if not the overwhelming work load LOL.

I think I've lost another pound or two but I'm trying very hard to stay off the scale. I'm feeling rather gung ho about it again because it's good for me, I need to lose weight, period, for my health. Wow, I'm like 180 degrees from where I was last night and I like it. So I think I'm going to curl up in my big red comfy chair and I don't know, listen to some music and knit. No, maybe I should just go to bed and try to get some good sleep.... Oh hell, whatever it is I'm going off to do something for me. Peace.

Like put me out of my misery? The day started out wonderful, I got on the scale and lost 4.2 pounds this week and then went and had a good counseling session. Grocery shopping and gassing up the van were next. Then I sat on my ass all afternoon then cooked portabella mushrooms and ate them and salad and brown rice. I was in such a happy place, it even kept going when I got to work but I was working with the one who does a whole lot of nothing and it was busy and there is some big honcho suposedly showing up tomorrow and it went down hill VERY quickly. I got out 20 minutes late and I'm in such a pissed off mood right now and I don't know what to do about it at almost midnight. No one is online to talk to, I can't call anyone and I want to cry but I can't. I'm feeling so down and low I can't stand it. I don't know how to shake this feeling off or how to get through it. I just want to be me again but the me I'm seeing/feeling isn't all that great and I'm not sure I can change her. At least not as fast as I feel I need. So here I vent on my blog once again because I don't have anyone to turn to. I really hate my life and I feel so stuck. It's time to write another poem I think. Later.

I have a thing for skull and cross bones if you haven't noticed. I mean, yeah, pirates and all are evil and mean and stuff but what I like to think about is buried treasure. There is so much around us all the time be it physically, mentally or emotionally. I love discovering buried treasure that is inside of me. So, hence, the love affair with the Jolly Roger.
And I give you the sockapalooza sock #1. I hope it fits her and that she likes it. I'm a bit worried about the heel. but if it doesn't and she doesn't she can frog them and figure out something else to do with this rather expensive merino wool yarn LOL.
The pooling at the heel is really kind of neat in my opinion and I really like the way it turned out. At first I didn't like the picot edging on it but then I thought that it looked kind of neat and added a festive touch to the festive colors. So anyway, there's the sock!
